RV with ME!

Have you ever been driving down the road and noticed an RV or RV park and thought to yourself… I wish I could travel in an RV?

It is estimated that 9 million households in the USA own an RV and approximately 1 million Americans live in their RV full-time.

That’s a whole lot of RV loving people, just like me!

But wait, I don’t live in an RV. Is this book for me? YES, YES, YES!!!

Whether you are currently living in an RV, in the planning stage of moving into an RV, just a daydreamer, or a travel lover, this book is for you.

My goal was to write a story that would inspire children to explore, educate them about places in the USA, myth bust some common misconceptions about RVing (like you do not go to school or can not make friends), and help parents talk to their children about the possibility of living in an RV.

After full-time RV living for 6 years, my husband and I brought home our daughter to our toy hauler. As a new and eager mom I sat there thinking of all the places I was going to take her, the friends we would make, and the things I was going to teach her including the books I would read her. AND BOOM! I knew I needed a book about RVing for her. So I started searching…. one… I found one… and it just wasn’t what I wanted. I wanted to explain to her why I chose this lifestyle for us and what makes it so special. As I sat there at 1 AM holding my new bundle of joy, my brain just wouldn’t turn off. MOM BRAIN! Next thing I knew, I was rhyming and writing away. I couldn’t stop. My passion for the RV lifestyle came pouring out. At first this was just a story I wanted to read to my daughter. I soon realized I wanted to share my love for the RV lifestyle with EVERYONE. I want children all over to feel the love and appreciation for the RV life.

Dad: Dad is based off my husband, Lance. Lance is an incredible father, devoted husband, adrenaline junkie, and hardworking journeyman lineman. His career allows us endless traveling opportunities, which we try our best to take advantage of. He enjoys anything outdoors, exploring new places, and hanging out with the family.

Callie: Callie in the book is a young girl that is eager to learn more about the RV lifestyle. She’s curious of the places they might go and what it would be like to live in an RV. Callie in real life is our first daughter. Unlike the book, Callie was born into the RV life. She was brought home from the hospital straight to our toy hauler. Although she wasn’t old enough to help decide, we can hardly wait to read this book to her and explain why we chose this lifestyle and how amazing it can be.

Muffin: Muffin is based off our fur baby! His real name is Stud Muffin but he goes by Stud, Muffin, Moo Man, Moopuffin, MooMeMoo, Stud Man, and of course Stinky Butt! He is a loving black lab/golden retriever mix but truly believes he’s human. He enjoys going on car rides, exploring, swimming, playing in the snow, making new friends, sitting in HIS chair by the campfire, getting butt rubs, and cuddling with his family. Keep an eye out for that silly dog, Muffin, as you never know what he’s up to.

Mom: Mom is… well me (Katelyn Plonski, Author of RV with ME!).

Featuring REAL RV Kids:

Kallie: Kallie likes to play with barbies, go outside, dance, and swim. @fulltimingfamily
Max: Max likes to explore the great outdoors, bounce around, and eat snow! @travelinperries

Lily: Lily is a sassy/ girly/ tomboy who likes to read and dance.

Dieter: Dieter likes to mountain bike, pogo stick, swim, and go on roller coasters! @weeksontheroad

 Included in the Book:

  •  a bucket list to dream about your travels
  •  a travel log to document your travels

Katelyn Plonski is an enthusiastic full-time ‘RV-er’ who loves traveling the United States with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. Although she resides in a compact forty-foot space, she lives life to the fullest by embracing her nomadic lifestyle. With the ultimate goal of living in all fifty states, she never misses an opportunity to explore.

Katelyn spends much of her time knocking on the doors of campers at random to introduce herself and make friends—and also going exploring with her dog and daughter. If it just so happens that Katelyn hasn’t already introduced herself, feel free to stop by because there is always an open seat at her campfire.
